Looking for a great Christmas Card SVG? This Glitter and Sequin Shaker Card is one of the fabulous designs included in this months Fresh Cuts SVG Bundle (available for a limited time only!) It also comes with a matching gift tag design!
Ready to create your own cards? Here’s what you will need:
- Christmas Card SVG from the Fresh Cuts December Bundle
- red cardstock
- white cardstock
- green glitter
- photo sleeves or page protectors
- double sided tape
- Fuse tool (optional) – you can get one at Michaels, Amazon, or via the Project Life website.
Cutting Your Christmas Card SVG
To start, open your Christmas card SVG file in Cricut Design Space (or whatever software you use with your cutting machine).
Hit Ctrl+A to select all, and attach the layers using the attach button in the bottom of the layers panel.
Find the line that goes down the middle of the card (it is the layer with no color option) and change it to a score line. Put red cardstock on your mat, and hit the Make It button.
After it has cut, go back to your file, and use the eye button (on the right side of each layer) to hide all of the pieces except the main card rectangle and the score line. Place white cardstock on your mat, and hit Make It. This will be the inside liner for your card.
For the gift tag, repeat the process of opening the file and attaching the layers. Cut on red, then hide all of the inside layers and cut on white.
Assembling Your Christmas Card SVG
The red cardstock will cut like this. Pull it off the mat, and discard the inner pieces (or keep them for another project!)
The next step is to assemble the confetti pockets. I am using a project life page, and I have carefully cut out one 4×6 pocket. You can buy 4×6 pockets as well at the craft store, or you can use a regular page protector cut to size. (If you choose this method, you will need to seal the edges to create a pocket. Follow the instructions below for sealing the pocket to seal the sides as well.)
Fill your pocket with glitter and/or sequins. The best way to seal the pocket is with a Fuse tool (available from both Project Life and We R Memory Keepers). You can also seal with a heavy duty double sided tape, but I highly suggest the Fuse tool. (You can use a craft store coupon and score this for under $20, and it comes in so handy!)
For the gift tag, I cut down a photo pocket, filled with sequins, and sealed the edges with my Fuse tool. Use double sided tape to stick on the back of the red cardstock, and then attach the white cardstock to cover the back of the pouches.
And You’re Done!
Pretty flippin’ cool right?! It actually turned out way better than I had envisioned. Don’t you just love it when that happens?!
