Modern Christmas Peacock Centerpiece

As you saw in my fall décor, I love non-traditional colours. And in case you couldn’t tell by now, I love every shade of purple, green, and blue… and that’s about it. I’m definitely on the cool side of the colour wheel when it comes to everything – clothes, home décor my blog design… you name it. So, of course, nothing makes me happier than seeing peacock coloured themes in Christmas design! I was so excited to create this peacock centerpiece out of them.
I’m throwing a peacock coloured party later this month (details will follow soon), and I love it because I can use some of my Christmas décor for the party and vice versa, making it much easier. Today, I whipped up these peacock centerpieces in about 10 minutes… if that. Probably less. Here’s how I did it:
Gather your supplies. I used mini ornaments in three shades – deep blue, teal, and fuschia. I also used three peacock feathers, a glittered monogram, and a glad vase that is about 10 inches tall. I also used some sparkly semi-sheer ribbon (not shown).
Start by pulling the tops off of all of your ornaments – I kept them in case I ever wanted them to be used as ornaments again. Then, layer the colours into the vase. For a vase this size, I used about 20 of each colour. Then, cut your feathers down to a staggered height and place inside your vase.
To finish it off, wrap ribbon around the center and secure in place (I used a double sided tape but hot glue would also work), and then hot glue your monogram in place. A crystal buckle would also be adorable in place of the monogram. And that’s all there is to it. I made two of these in under 10 minutes, and trust me, so can you.
Have you started Christmas decorating yet? My husband is away on course until mid December (which explains the slightly off-schedule blogging tendencies these past few weeks) so we can’t put the tree up ’til he gets home… so I pass the time with projects like this. Do you have your tree up yet? When do you put it up? Just thinking of it gets me giddy!
