I don’t know if you know this, but Christmas is only 22 days away! That means the new year is only 29 days away – EEK! It kind of sneaks up on you, doesn’t it? Everyone is so focused on Christmas, and then all of a sudden you have to get used to writing a new year and re-writing all of your important dates and events on a new calendar. Well, you aren’t catching me off guard this year, Mr. 2014!
I received this fabulous kit from Recollections and it is seriously one of the most creative products I have seen in a long time. It adds a quick and easy scrapbooking element to your daily life through a monthly calendar.
The 2014 Recollections Calendar Kit comes with tabbed dividers and a page protector for each month (as well as your monthly calendar), as well as journaling cards and stickers to mark those all important dates. The cards are 3×4 and 4×6, and you receive a ton of various types with the kit for every month of the year. It also comes in a pretty gift box, and when the year is over, you can place it inside the box and store with your other scrapbooks or family projects. What a neat way to look back and see what happened during a year!
My favorite part?
Yup… the Canada Day cards! I don’t mean to whine, but seriously, we kind of get left out of things. Most things that are made in the US don’t tend to include anything other than the 4th of July, so I was super excited to see the special Canada Day cards! My daughter was even more excited to see that the card with the lyrics for the national anthem also wrote the lyrics en francais. To include Canada AND both national languages? Now that’s a treat for us!
I started penciling in my January events and commitments already. Topping the list of things to look forward to? My 5 year wedding anniversary and my big blogging event in Salt Lake City! I’m glad I started my calendar – now I can count down the days!
I created a layout dedicated to each of my girls during their birth month as well – I included some baby pictures and a little note for them to discover when that month rolls around.
The calendar can be hung on the wall, or if you’re like me, you can keep it on your desk and use it like a book. Now you don’t have to look at a calendar of birds or whatever else comes on the calendar that you get from your dentist/real estate agent/politician’s office… and if you get a cute picture of your kids at Valentine’s Day, you can print it out and instantly display it for the rest of the month. Trés adorable! (That was said with my best French accent… which according to my daughter, is not very good.)
Want your own Recollections Calendar Kit? Head to Michaels, where you can get it for the awesome price of $39.99. And don’t forget your Christmas list – because this is the perfect present for those busy moms and sentimental grandmas! Let me know if you get one, I would love to see your favorite monthly layout!
