Today, I am going to switch up the Make it Monday a bit and move the craft tutorial to Wednesday so that I can share my little bit of fall decorating with you in time for the 52 Mantels Fall Mantel Link Up Party that I am co-hosting.
I so, so badly wish I had a real mantel, and I am seriously hunting down THE perfect sideboard… I just haven’t found it yet. So until then, this little table is parked under the mirror, and even though the scale is off, it serves the purpose. I just wish it were bigger!
There are so many things that make up my little “vignette”. First of all, there is my fall framed artwork that I showed you a few weeks ago. And, since I now have my halloween wreath up, I took the “d” monogram off my fall burlap wreath and used it here. It also has several new elements that I will show you how to do in the next couple of weeks, like the felt leaf and pom pom garland, the glitter acorns, and the ombre-style glittered candle holder. I have a thing for glitter, can ya tell? I also have a thing for non-traditional colours (except when it comes to Christmas… I am a total Christmas traditionalist). So instead of the usual fall colours this year, I went with teal, purple, and a bright orange as my main colours with hints of sage green and brown. I love the way it turned out.
This quote is also so beautiful. At first, I was going to create a printable, but I already had my framed artwork, and the table is pretty small. That’s when I got the idea of printing it on vinyl and sticking it on the mirror. I used my silhouette to cut it out, using the fonts Modern No. 20 and Missed Your Exit.
And there you have it, my little Fall Vignette… or tabletop decoration. Have you decorated your mantel for fall, thanksgiving (which is this weekend for us Canadians!), or Halloween?
