It’s no secret that I love graphic design. I have a HUGE clipart stash, and the best part of it being digital is that I can use it as many times as I want. I have made party printables, artwork for my house, scrapbook pages, blog designs, and buttons for blog events. But here’s the thing – digital graphics can be pricey, and while I believe artists work hard and should get paid, you also need to score a deal every now and then. A large portion of my clipart stash has come from freebies and huge sales (we’re talking 50% and more off). How do I find such great deals? I always subscribe to the designer somehow – whether it’s on my blogroll, facebook, or email newsletter – and for my favourites I make sure I sign up every way I can so that I am sure not to miss that super cute freebie or great flash sale. So want to know the sources for these great deals? I’m ready to spill… and here they are:
My absolute all time favourite when it comes to awesome deals and freebies. Every week, I receive a newsletter in my inbox with at least one freebie and a list of kits (a kit is a package of coordinating clip art and backgrounds) that are on sale for $1. The quality is fabulous and I love their selection of designers. My favorite current freebie? This one – I just love the soothing color palette!
One of my favourites for beautifully designed kits. I am in love with Gina’s designs, and I use them a lot in my own personal designs. I love the colour combos she creates. Sign up for her newsletter and you get a free kit right away, plus you can download more on her blog. Every week, she has a $2.00 Tuesday sale where 10 or more items are on sale for $2.00 or less. It’s a great way to build your collection. Here’s a free kit she has up for grabs – isn’t it so cheerful?

This is one of the first designers that I fell in love with, and I would say her designs take up 50% of my collection. I own almost her entire store. She has a very whimsical style, which I love. If you follow her on facebook or her blog, you will be kept up to date on sales (she often has 75% off sales!) and frequent freebies. This is one of my favorite freebies currently available on her blog:
If you are all about the bright colours this is the designer for you! She is amazing with bright and colourful designs. Her main focus is blog designing (which is also awesome, if you are looking for a new one), but she creates and gives away a lot of freebies as well, such as this adorable set:
JW has a huge selection of graphics to choose from, and she has sales quite often for 30-40% off her products. She also holds BOGO sales throughout the year, and a few times a year, she has scavenger hunts – she marks a bunch of products free in her shop and you go find them and get to download them for free. She is a great designer to follow! Check out this lil owl guy – wouldn’t he be great on a Fall Printable?
This is a newer store of collective designers, and they have a fun and colourful style. They offer freebies on their blog and through their facebook. I love their current facebook fan freebie, you have to get it before they change it up!
This designer offers HUGE collections of clipart, with kits starting at $1.50… which is amazing for the amount of graphics you get in each kit. If you subscribe to her blog, you will have the chance to grab her daily freebie (usually a page template) and you will be sure to hear of the 50% off sales she sometimes holds – yes, that’s right, if you score a kit during a sale, you will get a LOT of design for 75 cents! Check out the current freebie with a $5 purchase (or buy it for $1.50)… how adorable! Plus five bucks will get you a ton of loot in addition to this super awesome kit.
This designer is one of my new discoveries, and I love her because she has such a flexible TOU. I can use her designs to create just about whatever I want, which is great when you want to create things to sell or giveaway. She has lots of freebies on her blog, and by following her on facebook, you can make sure you don’t miss any sales, like the 50% off sale she just held, where I snagged a bunch of her kits for $1.50 – which is unheard of for commercial designs! I included her Halloween freebie in my 5+5 post a few weeks ago on Halloween graphics, but here’s another awesome design that would be perfect for party printables!
Now you know all the secret places to look – and you’ll have an awesome graphics and clip-art collection in no time – trust me!
